Awesome Week!
You guys rock! What a great week of classes you all had last week! Let’s keep it going!
We have our regular class schedule all week long. We hope to see you in class today!
Theme of the Week: Tournament Preparation!
Today is Monday of Week 5 in your new student training journal. Take 1 minute daily to keep your journal up to date!
This week’s Goal: Our goal is that by Saturday, all TaeKwonDo students have TWO belt stripes. For Green belt and above, the second stripe is for your sparring combo(s). These combos can be viewed on our website at www.BaileysTKD.com go to “Academy” and “Videos”. Then just click and watch your specific rank’s combo so that you can practice at home what you have learned in the classroom.
Regular Schedule During Spring Break!
We will be open for our normal schedule the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of Spring Break (March 15 to March 20). We will be closed for classes on Friday, March 19 due to tournament set-up and high rank testings. We will be closed for TaeKwonDo classes on Saturday, March 20 due to the TaeKwonDo Tournament. We WILL have our Jiu-JitSu classes at the Northport Academy on Saturday, March 20. Students from all three academies are invited to attend Jiu-JitSu classes at Northport that day.
Since most students will be out of school that week, we are reserving daytime private lessons spots for that week. That will be a great time for Black Belts to get your required private lesson and for all students to get tournament prep private lessons!
Tournament Prep Day!
This Saturday, March 13 will be our Tournament Prep Day. All classes will focus on making sure all students who are participating in the tournament know exactly what to expect at the tournament. Parents will be invited in on the floor to participate in a brief explanation of competition rules, judging procedures, and expectations of students and parents at the tournament! If you plan on competing, please try to be in class that day!
50 for 50!
All 3rd degree black belts and higher should have received an invitation either in person or via mail for Grand Master Bailey’s 50 for 50 taking place this Saturday, March 13 at the East Academy at 2 PM. You should have returned your RSVP slips by this past Saturday. If you did not return yours, please take a brief moment to email us today to let us know if you do or don’t plan on attending so that we can know how many people plan to watch and enjoy this great martial arts demonstration, fundraising event and reception to follow. Only 3rd degrees and above and their families are invited to attend. For more information see the posters at the academy! We are so excited to be able to share in this great event with Grand Master Bailey; celebrating his 50 years of life with such a great fundraising effort for the DCH Cancer Foundation and such a great physical feat. We hope that all 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th degree black belts in our area will be able to attend.
Name Change!
The ITA “International TaeKwonDo Alliance” is now known as TRMAI “Tiger Rock Martial Arts International”. This name better describes all the different aspects and programs that our national organization and our local academies have to offer. This name change does not affect our students any. Just be aware of the change in terminology.
Last Week To Sign Up For The Tournament!
Two weeks left until the tournament……..
One week left to add your name to the “competition team” and sign up for the tournament!
The time for action is here! Our first TaeKwonDo Championships of 2010! Your first opportunity to win Gold, Silver, or Bronze. Also your first opportunity to earn those all important competition points to have a chance to being an TRMAI “Regional Champion” and possibly a “World Champion”. If you earn that honor, you will be able to wear the “Regional Champion” or “World Champion” chevron on your uniform for all of 2011! This tournament is your first step toward that goal! You can sign up for the tournament with any of the staff members! Registration forms are available at the staff desks! Competition divisions are available for Tiger Cubs up to Black Belts!
Tournament Champions for 2009
The TRMAI “Tiger Rock Martial Arts International” (A.K.A. the ITA) has delivered the 2009 tournament awards. We have many students in our three academies who have won either a “Regional” Champion designation or a “World” Champion designation based on the number of points they earned in tournaments for the calendar year 2009. We will be awarding those certificates in class this week. Remember, if you won a “Regional” or “World” champion designation from the TRMAI, you also have the choice to wear a “World Champion” or “Regional Champion” chevron under your Tiger Patch on your left chest. You can purchase your patches at the counter! Just see a staff member.

Tournament Volunteers Needed!
We need your help. Each time we host a tournament, we want it to be the best. We have three areas where we need help from great parent and family volunteers. We have a ticket admission table, an equipment/t-shirt table and a refreshments/concessions stand that we need a few volunteers to help with. We have sign up sheets posted in the lobby of each academy. We need your help! Please step forward and help out!
